A huge thank you to everyone in Hyde this week after the Hyde Rotary Club sleigh celebrates raising £4947.13 courtesy of its Santa visits around the town. The Hyde Rotary Sleigh was kept extremely busy in the two week countdown to Christmas with a packed itinerary of visits around the towns streets with visits to business and schools to,Father Christmas was greeted by excited children and adults on his route as he gave out Christmas cards and sweets from his sleigh.He also visited Oakdale Special School in Dukinfield The Union Street Senior Citizens Party, B&M Hyde, Tesco in Hattersley and the Hyde Light Switch On, after the visits Rotary President Alan Oldham said we have moved up a gear this year with our publicity and it has certainly paid off more adults with their happy smiling children out on the streets waiting for the big man and donating to our collections The visits would not be possible without the help we receive and this year I would like to thank The Hyde Police Cadets, Newton Scouts and Cubs, Gee Cross Guides and Scouts, Paper Tulips of Hyde for sponsoring the Christmas Cards and Asda, Morrisons and,B&M of Hyde for supplying the sweets and finally the people of Hyde for your kind donations of money and tinned meats that will be used in the new year to support local charities.
