In addition to their usual activities such as the Know Your Blood Pressure Day (KYBD) at Spindles Oldham Shopping Centre in April and a host of support actions for local charities since then and mid July, the Rotary Club of Chadderton & Failsworth have been keeping extra busy.
Also in the last two weeks of April International Chair Keith Quarmby along with Past President Peter Fryer and their wives Lynda and Jayne combined their holiday in Montego Bay with visits to both the Rotary Club and The Salvation Army Basic School.
In addition to £500 cash dollars (quickest and cheapest in Jamaica) to buy a freezer for the school kitchen, they took with them loads of exercise and reading books for the older pupils. The airline had very kindly waived the excess baggage charge.
The Club has now received a thank you card from the Chair of Governors, Principal and all the children
The picture shows Past President Peter Fryer helping to unwrap the freezer, while Lynda and Jayne who are also representing Chadderton & Failsworth Inner Wheel, who collected the books and educational material, look on.
