October 24th was World Polio Day and Rotary Club of Sale organised a multitude of activities to mark the occasion and to help raise awareness of EndPolio.
Purchasing 12,000 purple crocus corms, part of the Purple4Polio activity, the Club distributed corms to parks via the Friends Groups, St Pauls Church, Sale and the Ashton on Mersey In Bloom Group. In addition over 4,000 corms were planted in the Sale Rotary flower bed on Hope Road, Brooklands. The remaining corms were sold to raise funds.
St Pauls also took part in the Sale Rotary Club project to turn Trafford Purple. Other buildings lit up purple included Trafford Town Hall, organised in collaboration with Sara Todd (CEO of Trafford Council) and the international chair of Sale. These generated quite a bit of social media activity, which further helped to raise the awareness of EndPolio.
