Nicola Doran from Christie's Hospital receiving a cheque from Biddulph Rotary Past President, David Ash
At a recent meeting of Rotary Biddulph a representative, Nichola Doran, from Christies hospital, Manchester, was welcomed to the club, where a cheque for One Thousand Pounds was presented to her by Past President Rtn. David Ash.
The money had been raised at the Astonbury Beer and Music Festival, which was held at Glebe Farm. Astbury, last summer. The festival has been held for several years and is a joint enterprise between the Astbury Community Committee and Biddulph Rotary.
Ms. Doran thanked Biddulph Rotary for its generosity, and went on to explain that the money will be spent on the new Integrated Procedures Unit. (I.P.U.). which will greatly enhance patient care and treatment at Christies. She also confirmed that a second Radiology unit is on the way, allowing more treatments to be made on one site.
She said that these new devices and the advances in technology would make possible major improvements in the treatment of patients suffering from cancer.
None of this would be possible without the generosity of organisations and clubs such as Biddulph Rotary.
